Coastal Skipper or Yachtmaster Offshore Prep with DoT Exam
These world wide recognised certificates are for more experienced skippers who require MCA (DoT) / RYA Certification.
For Coastal Skippers the pre-requirements are: 30 days, 2 days as skipper, 800M & 12 night hours.
For Yachtmaster: 50 days, 5 days as skipper, 2500M, 5 passages over 60M including 2 overnight and 2 as skipper. The intensive preparation covers all the horrible bits such as blind navigation, night pilotage, man overboard, advanced boat handling under power and
sail plus heavy weather tactics. This course ends up with an RYA/DoT exam*.
